PSG face Bayern and Barcelona while PL giants take on Real

Holders Paris St Germain will play Bayern Munich and Barcelona in a blockbuster Champions League league phase, while 15-times winners Real Madrid will face Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool.

This season sees six Premier League teams compete for the first time, with Tottenham joining Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle after winning the Europa League final last season.

The English sides have been kept apart until the knockout stages.

No Scottish teams are involved for the first time in four years after Celtic and Rangers were both embarrassed in qualifying – they go in the Europa League instead.

As well as coming up against Trent Alexander-Arnold with Real, six-time winners Liverpool face Madrid rivals Atletico and last year’s beaten finalists Inter Milan in their eight games, with Pep Guardiola’s City taking on Italian champions Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea will face both Barcelona and Bayern Munich while Arsenal face Bayern and Inter.

Newcastle’s return to the competition sees them play Barcelona, while Tottenham play Dortmund and Monaco.

The first matches will be played on Tuesday, 16 September with the last round of league matches taking place on 28 January 2026, with exact scheduling of matches to follow in the coming days.

This season’s final will be held in Budapest.
