Tottenham have signed Mikey Moore to a new long-term contract.
The midfielder turned 18 on Monday and he celebrated his coming of age with a new deal, which should allow him to make his long-awaited debut for Rangers after joining the Glasgow giants on a season-long loan.
Rangers have played three games since Moore’s arrival, with UEFA rules concerning the registration of under-18 players preventing him from taking part in any of them.
Russell Martin’s side will hope they can now register Moore before the second leg of their Champions League third qualifying round tie with Viktoria Plzen, which they lead 3-0 from the first leg.
Though they have excelled in Europe to this point, knocking Panathinaikos out in the second qualifying round, Rangers have yet to win domestically under Martin, as they have been held to draws by Motherwell and Dundee.
Moore has made 21 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, scoring his first goal for the club last season in a 3-0 Europa League win over Elfsborg. He was an unused substitute as Tottenham beat Manchester United 1-0 in the final to secure Champions League qualification.
