Manager Danny Rohl has left Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent in the latest blow to the stricken Championship club.
Wednesday are currently under a transfer embargo due to the late payment of wages to players with owner Dejphon Chansiri looking to sell the club.
Wednesday confirmed the departure of the popular German this morning, alongside coaches Sascha Lense, Chris Powell, Neil Thompson and Sal Bibbo.
A club statement read: “Sheffield Wednesday can confirm the departure of manager Danny Röhl by mutual consent.
“Sheffield Wednesday would like to thank Danny and his backroom team for their services and wish them well for the future.”
Rohl not likely to be out of work for long
Rohl has performed well at Wednesday – guiding them away from relegation in his first six months in charge before an impressive 12th-placed finish last season, achieved despite the turmoil surrounding Chansiri’s relationship with the supporters – and will be a man in demand in England and across Europe.
BBC Radio Sheffield are reporting Henrik Pedersen will be his successor.
Wednesday open their campaign at Leicester on Sunday, August 10.
