Andre Onana joins Trabzonspor on loan from Manchester United

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has completed a loan move to Turkish side Trabzonspor for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

The deal, confirmed ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline in Turkey, is subject to international clearance. Onana has yet to feature in the Premier League this term, with his only outing coming in United’s Carabao Cup defeat to League Two Grimsby.

“We would like to wish Andre good luck,” the club said in a statement.

Onana, 29, joined United from Inter Milan in July 2023 for £47.2m as David de Gea’s replacement and went on to make 102 appearances, including playing in the 2024 FA Cup final win.

However, his time at Old Trafford has been marked by inconsistency and costly errors.

With Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens arriving from Royal Antwerp on deadline day in a deal worth €21m (£18.1m) plus add-ons, manager Ruben Amorim will now rely on Lammens, Altay Bayindir, and Tom Heaton as his options between the posts.

United return to action on Sunday with a trip to rivals Manchester City.
