Chelsea sanction exit of young striker

Chelsea are poised to lose another forward player on deadline day with Fulham agreeing a deal to sign youngster Tyrique George.

Fulham are set to pay an initial £22million for the 19-year-old, who has been offered a five-year deal at Craven Cottage.

George is likely to follow Nicolas Jackson out of the door with the Senegal striker’s move to Bayern Munich back on after hitting a snag over the weekend when Liam Delap sustained an injury against Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

That game saw George make his first appearance of the season as he came on for Delap before later being taken off himself for Andrey Santos.

His departure will disappoint many supporters with George joining Chelsea at under-eight level and progressing through the ranks.

Another frantic summer of transfer activity at Chelsea

His sale will help Chelsea with their PSR requirements, though, after another hectic summer for Enzo Maresca’s side. The Blues have recouped almost £300m on player sales although that is offset by a hefty outlay on the likes of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Delap, Alejandro Garnacho and Willian Estevao.

They also loaned Marc Guiu to Sunderland but have recalled the teenage Spaniard after paying compensation to the Wearsiders.

Guiu will compete with Pedro for the striker’s spot assuming Jackson’s deal is completed.
