Everton, Fulham and Brighton all progress to Third Round

Everton, Fulham and Brighton all made it safely through to the EFL Cup Third Round after comfortable victories over lower league opposition.

Brighton thrashed Championship strugglers Oxford United 6-0 at the Kassam Stadium, with goals coming from Stefanos Tzimas (2), Olivier Boscagli, Brajan Gruda, Diego Gomez and Tom Watson.

Everton picked up a second win at their new home, Hill Dickinson Stadium, with a 2-0 victory over League One Mansfield Town.

After a goalless first half, Carlos Alcaraz gave the Toffees the lead before Beto secured safe passage to round three with an 89th minute goal.

Meanwhile, Fulham beat Bristol City 2-0 at Craven Cottage. Marco Silva’s side saw off the Championship high-flyers via a George Tanner own goal after eight minutes before Raul Jimenez doubled the lead 13 minutes later.
