Donnarumma left out of PSG squad for UEFA Super Cup

Paris Saint-Germain have left Gianluigi Donnarumma out of their squad for the UEFA Super Cup clash with Tottenham, according to multiple reports, in a sign he could be about to leave PSG.

Donnarumma is entering the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes, with talks over a new deal breaking down.

PSG completed the signing of Lucas Chevalier from Lille on Saturday, and Donnarumma’s omission suggests Luis Enrique sees Chevalier as his new number one.

Donnarumma played a crucial role in PSG winning an unprecedented treble last season as they finally ended their wait for Champions League glory, thrashing Inter Milan 5-0 in the final. PSG subsequently reached the final of the Club World Cup, only to lose 3-0 to Chelsea.

Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Italy international, with Bayern Munich and Galatasaray also credited with an interest.

Donnarumma has made 161 appearances from PSG since joining from AC Milan in 2021, winning seven major trophies with the club in that time.

PSG are heavy favourites to win the Super Cup, which takes place in Udine on Wednesday.

Luis Enrique’s side will begin their Ligue 1 campaign against Nantes on Sunday.
