Barcelona v Como match preview
Barcelona ramp up their pre-season with the traditional Joan Gamper friendly which this year comes against Como – managed by former Barca midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The match had been pencilled in to be played at the new, remodelled Nou Camp but the stadium is not ready yet so this will be played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, which only holds 6,000 fans.
Como will become the ninth Italian outfit to participate in the curtain-raiser, after Sampdoria, AC Milan, Inter, Juventus, Napoli, Parma, Roma and Brescia being the previous contestants.
They will arrive in Catalonia on the back of a feisty clash with Real Betis in midweek that saw a mass brawl break out.
Barcelona v Como team news
Robert Lewandowski will miss out with a hamstring problem.
Lewandowski scored 42 goals total in 52 appearances last season to help Barcelona win the La Liga title. His 27 league goals were second only to Kylian Mbappe’s 31.
That could see Marcus Rashford come into the side, while defender Inigo Martinez is completing a move to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia. Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen remains injured.
Como have defender Alberto Dossena injured and former Barca keeper Pepe Reina has retired so Jean Butez will start.
