Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his disbelief at the news his Portugal team-mate Diogo Jota has died in a car crash.
The Liverpool forward was killed when the Lamborghini he was travelling in came off the road in the Zamora province in north-west Spain overnight.
Jota’s brother Andre Silva, who played for Portuguese second division side Penafiel, was also killed.
Jota was 28 and his brother 25.

International team-mate Ronaldo pays tribute to Jota
Ronaldo played alongside Jota on many occasions for Portugal, and the pair were part of the squad that won the Nations League last month.
The Al-Nassr striker wrote on X this morning: “It doesn’t make sense. Just now we were together in the National Team, just now you had got married.
“To your family, your wife, and your children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be with them.
“Rest in Peace, Diogo and André. We will all miss you.”
